No! Not my 49ers Levi Stadium! We gotta figure a fix for this!! From our union... Several flight crews have reported concerns and filed ASAPs concerning the new San Francisco 49ers NFL football stadium (scoreboard and billboards) that is directly below the flight path on approach to RWY 12 / Departure on RWY 30. Apparently, the boards are very bright at night and are causing issues (distraction and/or night blindness) and the stadium expects these signs to be on 24 hours a day. Crews have said that they can see the scoreboard from 50 NMs out during the day it is so bright. FAA just finished flight checks to this runway to assess the severity of the problem but the results are not back yet.
