Monday, 9/1, 7-8pm Japan time: demonstration to halt the Japan-India Nuclear Cooperation Agreement, in front of the Prime Minister Official Residence (Kanteimae). Narendra Modi, India Prime Minister, visits Japan from Aug 31. On 1 September Mr. Modi and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe are expected to finalize this agreement, which would give the green light for export of Japanese nuclear technology to India. India has not signed the international Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty which means that in theory India could use Japanese nuclear technology not only for nuclear power plants, but also for nuclear arms.
