No. That movie is a soulless piece of commercial crap. As bad or maybe worse than any Transformers film. Its panders to a crowd thats expecting camp and succeeds (in the raking of money). I will stand by the idea that a truly great terrible movie needs to come from the heart and the filmmakers (mostly the director) take it seriously in most of the steps in making the film. This is why The Room is hilarious as a bad movie. Tommy Wiseau made that movie and was 100% serious about making that film. Theres no winks to the audience, and the acting was bad because the actors were terrible. It was an honest and unabashed bad movie. Your brain can tell when things are sincere, and Sharknado is not sincere. These Asylum movies are purposely terrible and have no heart to them. They are products for those who crave camp. Thats fine if you like it, but there should be no hall of fame for Asylum films. Theyre products produced the make money, and since these movies have small budgets they now they will get their money back 10-fold. What Im saying is you cant make a great bad film on purpose. It just happens. They are rare and cant be mass-produced. Something I treasure as a bad movie fan. Hosting a bad movie party? Check out Miami Connection (my favorite), Samurai Cop, The Avenging Disco Godfather, or Death Spa (I havent seen it, but based on Red Letter Medias screening of it, Im sold.) TL; DR: No, I did not enjoy Snakes on a Plane, and I have no interest in seeing Sharknado 2: The Second One.
