No Time to Kill By Steve Hill Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Mark 13:33 As I write these words I feel the intensity of the warfare and the necessity to work while it is day. The cost of winning the lost is ringing in my ears. I see the battlefield of life littered with victims—some dead, others barely breathing, blood everywhere. The enemy is unleashing every weapon. I hear the voice of the Lord saying, “This is not the time of peace, there is no time to kill!” This is the time to fight for the Lord. Not the time for ourselves, our treasures to hoard. This is the time, deep travailing in prayer. Not the time to lay down His burden of care. This is the time to harvest the wheat. Not the time to sit down and doze off to sleep. This is the time of suffering and pain. Not the time to enjoy even more earthly gain. This is the time to win souls for Him. Not the time to slide back and wallow in sin. This is the time of enduring the cold. Not the warmth of the Son on bright streets of gold. Yes, the timepiece we wear, with accurate detail. We race to and fro, we must buy and sell. Our schedule is tight, with precision we dwell. But His appointment is certain, it’s heaven or hell. To the doctor we run, his schedule to keep. God’s time is more precious, don’t drift off to sleep! Keep pace with the Lord, seek out His will. His appointments are urgent, there’s no time to kill. Saints of God, travail with tears over the lost. Work while it is day.
