No amount of prayer, fasting, reading the Word, preaching the Word, evangelism, prophecy, discipling, feeding the poor, visiting the sick/widow/prisoner, etc will save you from hell. Only Christ can do that. All we must do is believe and repent. Doing faith through our own flesh comes to nothing, we must submit our own flesh to the Spirit enabling Him to do the work and not through our own will but His will. Denying self and acknowledging that we are nothing, that it is only He that can reconcile us to God. Its when we understand our place in the Kingdom that we learn true humility, ALL praise and belongs to Christ alone. If we take any of His glory, we blaspheme the very foundation of Christs blood on the cross and the very foundation of the faith. Its through His grace that we are set free from sin, grace comes first and the rest (obedience/repentance, fruits of the spirit, etc) follows through His goodness.
