No animals are at risk and I posted an update last night for all to read. This has ALWAYS been a respected facility as are our programs. contrary to the negative untrue comments on castanets forum. I will always defend my staff and our good reputation. We will overcome this bump with the same help given to other non profit animal organizations. This is an expensive business for all organization as we witness with the constant fundraising of the spca allowing them to do the good work they do. Theres no difference here. There is no zoo in Alberta offering to help either! I never mentioned another zoo to the media. There is no other zoo involved. I said a well respected man in the industry has offered hyw development on his property in Alberta as a last resort. Im not leaving kelowna. My animals were inspected yesterday by a conservation officer and all is in good hands here. We still need to raise 5200 before fortis will reconnect and Im confident to will happen soon and Ill be making some big changes in reducing our usage of power footprint and yet not taking away from the incredible care our animals receive.
