No autographs of any writings collected in the Bible have survived. Even the earliest manuscripts have not survived. The ancient manuscripts which men possess today are copies of copies of copies. And-they vary some one from another. That can be clearly seen by reading the footnotes in any modern English translation of the Bible. The many English translations of the Bible also vary some from one another. Therefore, when reading the Bible the reader should not over focus on a single word, phrase, sentence or verse. That could be misleading. The reader should read all the verses surrounding a verse and keep it in context. One should also keep scripture in context with the era and place in which it was written. This is one reason we need educated Spirit filled ministers to teach us. The Bible is a collection of 66 books that were written by different writers over a period of more than 700 years, perhaps even over 1000 years. None of the original writings survived;and yet the Bible is the most printed book in history, the most translated book in history, and the biggest selling book in history. I think that is amazing.
