No doubt that many of us will laugh at these claims...... but there is a pattern here, specific scientific discoveries/inventions from the west are picked up and an Indian equivalent is fabricated. If one observes closely, (with Alfred Adlers perspective) this pattern reveals the highly colonial mindset of those who are making such claims or backing it. So basically, (as the narrative goes) the great science of ancient India was not great in itself, but is great because it had same things as that of the west, but much before the west. Such colonial mindset and inferiority complex, can in general be seen as not so harmful, but with the admixture of religion, it becomes a lethal weapon. A little reading of history can show how lethal it can be, specially when the religion here means the fascist ideological perspective of racial purity. Am not saying that ancient India was backward, of course there were many great things that was done (from Aryabhattas mathematical genius to Akbars radical land reforms, and many more).
