No flag is supposed to fly above the American flag on US soil. Its a military tradition going back for thousands of years to demonstrate that the US government, represented by the US flag, is the sovereign entity in control of the territory. Like the banners in Game of Thrones, if it helps. Im not really one of those hoorah nationalists who are going to get bent out of shape when these rules arent respected, but what does it say about our sovereign when the surveillance camera gets mounted above the flag school children pledge allegiance to, with liberty and justice for all...
