No joke: Governor Pence plans to announce a state run news service in February. This may be portrayed as providing more information about the workings of state government, but it will also inevitably lead to more spin, thereby creating yet more cynicism towards government. Not good in a state that has struggled in civic engagement: Indiana ranked last in the nation in voter turnout in the 2014 midterm elections.
