No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.” – Revelation 22:3-4 In 1977, Lawrence McKinney was wrongfully accused of rape and first-degree burglary in Memphis, Tennessee. He was sentenced by a jury of his peers to 100 years in prison and spent nearly 32 of those years in confinement until his release in July 2009 following DNA testing that proved he was innocent. During his time in prison, Lawrence accepted Christ as his Savior and he decided to change his life and to serve the Lord. If you find Jesus, he can do the things you need him to do, he said. When I found Jesus, I put all my problems in his hands. Following his release, Lawrence moved to Lebanon. He works at Lifeway in Nashville in its warehouse, ministers to youth at Lebanon Church of God every third Saturday and leads a jail ministry at Wilson County Jail. I know God was in control. Im a free man now, Lawrence said. Serving the Lord throughout eternity will be a constant joy. It will be an abundant life where we will feel honored and privilege to serve our great God. Today in prayer, praise the Lord for eternal life you have in Him and serve Him gladly all day long. “My heaven is to please God and glorify him, and to give all to him, and to be wholly devoted to his glory; that is the heaven I long for.” – David Brainerd God’s Word: “Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.’” – Revelation 7:15
