Both vessels are some 1,000 nautical miles south of Cape Town South Africa. Meanwhile the Sam Simon a few thousand miles to the southeast continue to haul up what looks like a total of one hundred kilometers of gill nets. The Jairo Mora Sandoval is stationed in Cape Verde working with the NGO Biosphera to protect birds, turtles ad fish. The Martin Sheen is fitting a new windlass before departing for the Sea of Cortez to investigate the situation with the endangered Vaquita. The Steve Irwin is berthed in Williamstown, Victoria in Australia. The cove Guardians are on the ground in Taiji, Japan and Sea Shepherd activists are doing anti-poaching efforts in the Galapagos, in Costa Rica, and protecting sharks in Western Australia.
