No matter where I go I will always love this city, and I will always call it home. Detroit is a city on the rise, and its full of proud, humble compassionate hardworking people who want to make a difference. Detroit is a great city that gave us cars, saved our country from Hitler during WWII and gave us Motown music. It will be an even greater city again with time. However, it is not money from the state of Michigan or the largest city bankruptcy in U.S. history alone that will bring back Detroit. It is the power of love and creativity and new ideas that will make Detroit rise from the ashes. Thats exactly the mission of the Detroit Creativity project. Many of the actors and performers involved in the project I had as teachers at Second City Detroit when it was still in operation. They are some of the most kind, creative and dedicated people you will ever meet. Others are well known people who grew up and got their start here. You might recognize some of them. They are doing amazing work and I applaud greatly. However, they will also need support from the people in order to aid in their mission. I encourage everyone to support these people and help them create the Detroit we want to see come alive. Then we can all stand up as Detroiters and say to America three great words. What Up Doe !!!!!
