No nation has ever lived up to its ideal. But when we followed our Founders vision, we came closer than any that had gone before, and have come since. Were we to truly embrace their ideals, we could fundamentally reform America into something so great, so far surpassing the past, so free, just and prosperous, that we would once again be the envy of all others. An America that shines the beacon of freedom to the world, an America that could once again aspire to be that Shining City on a Hill. And though, imperfect as we are, we can never fully achieve the lofty summit of Liberty, there is virtue in the pursuit. Were we to once again reach for the stars, we would surely lift every individual to a higher place than we hold now...and I, for one, will never stop insisting on better. From myself, and from you!
