No one likes being widowed, nor is the widowhood journey anything that anyone would intentionally seek out. No one likes the word widowed very much either. However...you must also remember that the word widowed is also a badge of honor. How? Think about it. Regardless of the length of your marriage, your engagement or your relationship, you were together for forever; even if forever was not very long for you. How many people can say the same in this day and age? You have also survived one of the most horrible experiences that you will ever know. Within that survival, you have also discovered strength that many will not realize - even in what feels like your weakest moments. You have also discovered your resilience, perseverance, determination and the true depth of your spirit. Be proud of how far you have come on your Healing Journey...even if that journey began a very short time ago. Be proud that you fulfilled vows and promises until death did you part. Be proud of who you are today, right this minute. Because you should be.
