No one likes to fail at anything, I have tried marriage twice and - TopicsExpress

No one likes to fail at anything, I have tried marriage twice and failed miserably both times, but good things do come out of failed attempts. I had a five year old kid enter my life some 20 years ago, and we butted heads from day one, but tonight I seen him as the man he had grown up to be. He was not the perfect child growing up, some days you wanted to hug him, some days you wanted to choke him. I expected him to work like a grown man at 12, work the parting gates and not make a mistake on where to put the beef or the calves. Truth is he knew as much about the cows on the ranch as I did, though I would never let him know. I was not the easiest boss or stepfather to get along with. I would put a whistle around his neck at 10 or 12 years old and send him into a swamp to gather cows, telling him if you get lost blow the whistle and dont move. He never had to use that damn whistle, he knew that old Grassy Island swamp as well as anyone. Well tonight I told that kid, who is now a man, that I am proud of you, I was always proud of him, no matter what he did while growing up. We did good Cindy!
