No one really thinks about money until the volume of money exceeds a certain limit, the local paper, the Republic, decides on Christmas Day every year they go ahead and steal from their subscribers a $.75 fee (this year) unless its a Sunday then its a 1.75 from their subscribers. One may not care but if the amount of subscribers the paper has is, lets say, 25,000 at $0.75 that equates to $18.750 dollars subscribers paid to receive a product but didnt!!! When I was a subscribers I questioned this fee and was told its the one day were off and since you pay monthly it just comes off as the daily rate. Its a formula calculated in over the 12 months. One could debate but in the end you, the subscriber, are paying for a product and not receiving it so essentially your money is being stolen from you. Some would say they dont even realize it. This has occurred for years so the amount of money taken and a product not delivered would be in the hundreds of thousands. Granted some would say its the least I could give and I dont care, or others say its good they have a day off. The day off is irrelevant, kudos to the paper for allowing everyone being off but why allow them to do it at your expense? The dos system they still use is and has been malfunctioning for years to cheat their carriers but no one believes that. So to me the local paper is thieving from their subscribers and I believe it is illegal. Think about this, have you ever had an issue with the paper and you said just credit my account! The paper would say yes we have credited your account the days fee - but you dont get that credit back EVER!!! The Republic tells you it will come off the balance of the account when u close it. WHEN YOU CLOSE IT, but by then you dont remember how many credits you have for damaged or undelivered papers. These are the things you should be demanding answers and a new system put in place. No one will just because no one cares. Well I do care and this is the exact reason Im no longer a subscriber. Now if you want to cheat the paper I would love to have your login credentials so I can read their dribble. Txt it to me 8125069821 they wont know. LOL
