No one should offer to be the Vice Chairman of the Board of a non profit organization just because the spot "needs filled with a local person". If you do, however, you should certainly do your homework regarding what is expected of that position. Most non profit organizations would reach out in to the community for an objective third party with specific qualifications to best fit the needs of the organization. Just not how the SPCA works. Fill any open spots with those closest to Ms. Chaffee who are willing to continue with business as usual. Not willing to be transparent and work with the community to rebuild trust in the financial and care of animals department.
