No power until late yesterday...no phone/cable or internet..but SO THANKFUL we have a generator that made it possible for all of my children, (and their significant others ) my dad, hubby and sweet grand-girl to be under one roof and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together! I am also thankful for the angels that watch over us every day...While the generator was still running yesterday...we decided to put batteries in the CO/Smoke detector(I know!!! They should have been in there!) About 40 minutes after the batteries were inserted....the alarm went off....CARBON MONOXIDE detected!!! We all rushed out of the house...Fire and Rescue came to the house and found HIGH levels of CO inside! The fire official said that the level of CO was so high, that if it were that high during the night...we would not have woken up!! We were all checked and urged to go to the ER. Gary, Ben and I were the only ones with small levels of CO...but we are all fine!! The source of the leak was found and fixed....by the time we came home, the power was back on. I piss and moan about how hard life is sometimes and all of the little things that keep getting thrown our way...but I am truly humbled by the miracle that happened yesterday and the BIG PICTURE of how blessed we really are! The lessons here: Count your blessings/ Know that there IS always something to be thankful for/ Dont sweat the small stuff/ NEVER take the batteries out of your CO/Smoke detector / and never, ever miss the opportunity to tell those you love that you love them! Also....I didnt get a chance to say it on Thursday, but Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
