No rest for the wicked! The turned hull of my scratch built USS BARBEL. Barbel was the first class of submarine to use the teardrop shaped hull. For the first time a submarine went faster underwater than on top. This submarine was key in the advancement of the US NAVAL SUBMARINE FORCE. The model is in 1/400 scale. Originally in 1/700 however that made it to small in my opinion. Just a bit more truing and the hull and template taken from the plans will match perfect.
