No secessionism in the Caprivi Alex Mabuku Kamwi President :CANU Party Thursday, May 22, 2014 - 08:00 Letters Namibia has since 1939, when its administrative agency Authority over the Caprivi ended, no administrative authority over the Caprivi Country. Accordingly there is no secessionism in the Caprivi as alleged and hence no crime committed by any Caprivian over Namibia. Therefore, CANU Party demands the immediate release of all Caprivians arrested since 1999, the immediate release of Matthew Likokoto, Alexander Nchindo, Progress Joba, Albert Mushe and others who were arrested and detained by Swapo between 1983 and 1985 because of CANU. A transition government under the UN guidance leading to a referendum being established in the Caprivi Country as soon as possible, all Caprivians in exile should be repatriated back home with no conditions. The decision of changing the Caprivi name to Zambezi and the delimitation of Caprivi Country up to Chetto must be reversed as soon as possible to its original name and boundaries. If the government of Namibia fails to meet our demands at the earliest possible time, Caprivians should not go to the polls in November elections until our demands are met. This should be our peaceful way of demonstrating our commitment to the cause of Caprivi. Not meeting our demands as per above, let us peacefully not participate in the presidential and national assembly elections of November 2014. Neither Mr Muyongo nor CANU merged Caprivi Country with Namibia. Accordingly, no legal instrument made Caprivi Country part of Namibia Country, hence a stolen land. Thus, we call upon Britain, South Africa and United Nations to ensure that the Caprivi question is resolved as speedily as possible without excluding CANU Party and all interested parties to any form of dialogue in the process. Lya zwa twaaaaa!
