No, thats the wrong philosophical argument, to solely focus on the victims and how much they suffered, because that implies you want the offender to suffer equally, when the goal of justice is to simply trade his life for his victims life. We must ask ourselves why was lethal injection created in the first place over various forms of execution. Are we going to do it for the reason we invented it, as a compromise or to humanely put someone down? Or, are we going to do it the wrong way because we seek justice (and retribution) for their crimes. You dont think those men had more anguish and suffering as their victims knowing the facts in the lead up to and during execution? If we are now solely bearing in mind the victims, then I suggest we go back to the most inhumane forms of barbarity. Again, what does the justice system do, deprive or make suffer?
