No toy or pastime marked my childhood more ubiquitously than baseball card collecting. I collected soda bottles to buy packs. I remember that I was trading cards with a buddy on my front porch when I learned Elvis had died. Friends and I created our own game with our cards.I had the full series of Frosted Flakes 3-D cards for several years in a row. My mom was so worried I would be steal or unfairly trade with my brother that she wrote Tony Jensen in ink on all his cards. Still, we managed to share a joy over our collections (until he got older and realized the implications of our moms best intentions). Thank you, Sy Berger, for creating something that defined my childhood and now puts the same kind of smile on my own boys faces.
