No trials for chipangano this year HWANGE Football Club will not hold trials in search for new players but will instead promote juniors when they begin their pre-season training next week on Monday. Chipangano, who started their 2014 campaign on a high before hitting a bad patch towards the second half of the season, have also hinted that they intend keeping almost all the players who did duty for them although one of their two reliable right backs, Tonisani Sibelo or Phakamani Dube, could be heading to 50 Robert Mugabe Way in Bulawayo, home to Highlanders FC. Another player said to be on the radar of Harare City, Dynamos and How Mine is Soccer Star of the Year finalist Evans Rusike. Head coach Nation Dube is nevertheless not worried about overtures being made on his players. “It makes me happy when so many teams are inquiring about my players, it shows we’ve the talent but the big question is whether I’ll release them or not,” quipped Dube who is assisted by former teammates Brian Njobvu and Chenjerai Dube. On his 2015 season, the former Gwanda Ramblers and Zimbabwe Saints player said proper field training will start on January 19 as his players will be going for medical check ups from January 12 before starting the physical side of the preparations. “As a club we’ll not hold trials as such but we’re not closing the door on anyone who wants to try his luck. I’ve a junior team that I feel deserves a chance because if we don’t give them that opportunity ourselves where will they get it from,” said Dube. He said talent was there in their developmental side, coached by Mebelo Njekwa, another former Chipangano player. “The players we’re going to promote must be prepared to fight for the club, the community and themselves. I’ve full belief that they’ll not disappoint me in that regard,” said Dube. Meanwhile, the club needs to soon appoint a substantive chairman or confirm acting boss Burzil Dube who literally ran the club alone this past season. Dube is the substantive secretary with former defence stalwart and coach David Phiri being a committee member. take take nabeve pakapawoneke
