No trip to East Central Wisconsin is complete, for me anyway, until Ive made a stop at M. Shettl Freight Sales. Just west of Oshkosh and a mile or two east of the little village of Butte des Mortes youll find the wackiest assortment of, well, stuff, displayed over several acres outside and several thousand square feet inside four buildings. Its all mixed together with closeout doors, windows, kitchen faucets, cabinets, boat trailers, grandmas glassware and an overwhelming mish mash of stuff. Theres even a genuine one eyed junkyard cat. I lived in Butte des Mortes in the early seventies and went past M. Shettl Freight Sales at least twice a day on my way to and from work. It always put a smile on my face and still does.
