No walking this morning. Thunder and lightning, beautiful they may be, are not for walking on the streets. So, here I am, getting ready for a roundtable on teaching at Lowndes High on Thursday morning, sipping a few cups of coffee, waiting for my angel to arise, thinking and reflecting--and feeling, putting some stuff together for the session, getting into the groove and putting on my game face for Thursday. Havent felt this way, this deeply high, since I gave a webinar on teaching to an LSU education class last Spring. Damn, I still do miss teaching. And, talking about teaching and beautiful, you know that saying, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Well, the most exciting thing about beauty, especially when merged with teaching, is when I realize I am talking about myself, that I am that beholder. It excites me, it empowers me, to find beauty in places where others have seldom looked and dared to look, but must look: both inside each student and inside ourselves. Because of this, Im re-reading two particular, guiding Random Thoughts I shared I call Genesis 1:27 that I wrote two years ago and In the Image that wrote 14 years ago.
