No water coming out of the hot water faucet in the upstairs - TopicsExpress

No water coming out of the hot water faucet in the upstairs bathroom sink. Hot water DOES come out of the same bathrooms shower, and hot water DOES come out of the jacuzzi tub in the neighboring master bedroom. In fact, water comes out of every single other place that its supposed to. If you know how these fixtures are arranged in my house, you might be as baffled as I am as to how these things might be plumbed so that one fixture in the middle of three of them can have a frozen pipe. Currently running a heater under the sink to try and thaw things out, but having some doubts as to whether this is the best choice: Theres currently no water running inside the walls (that I can detect) that might indicate a broken pipe. It occurs to me that the pipe might be frozen and cracked, but not leaking thanks to the ice plug. If thats the case, then the pipe already needs to be replaced -- that damage is already done. If I thaw it out, it could soak the inside of the walls, doing more damage. But its also possible that the pipe ISNT broken, and that I might just prevent that eventuality if I can get heat onto it quickly enough. To thaw, or not to thaw -- that is the question.
