No wonder I love stringed instruments. Here for you my friends, one of my favorite works. Impromptu No 6 in D flat Major. (for Harp and Piano.) by Gabriel Fauré French Romantic period music is apparently without fear of expressing deep emotions here so wonderfully illustrated by Xavier de Mistre. Also worthy of mention is the work done by Sebastien Erard ( also in France ) to invent and perfect in 1810 the chromatic orchestral harp we use and see here today. Unobserved by most is the seamless use by the player engaging foot levers which by rods connected within the column to forks at the string ends, either lower or raise pitch by one note ( semitone) making possible for Faure and Debussy to compose such exquisite complex music. https://youtube/watch?v=1YJRcIsR2t8
