Noah is a solid movie that had me invested and entertained. Im going to say this though, this is a different telling of Noah as well as being a darker telling. This film doesnt follow the biblical version and if youre a really religious person then youre going to going to be disappointed and very enraged with Noah. I accepted the film for the different re-telling it was given and Darren Aronofsky is known for being the director that confuses the hell out of you and giving you that What The Hell Did I Just Watch? moment. This is actually a film you can actually understand easily in my opinion. The film looks visually beautiful for most part, the storyline was interesting, the performances were all very good but the strongest performance being Russell Crowe by far. Russell Crowe is so strong as the character of Noah and added so much depth. The cinematography is looking sharp as well. Even though its not the real telling of Noah, I do appreciate what Aronofsky tried to do and kinda made it his own world. This was pretty violent and very dark and it pushed the boundaries of a PG-13 rating well in my opinion. I can definitely understand why this film will anger some people so much, I wouldnt even be surprised if this ends up in some peoples worst list. My flaws with this film would be that the visuals effects on the animals couldve looked a little more better, Logan Lerman does ok here but he definitely had the weakest performance out of all the actors in this film, the editing felt abrupt a few times, and there was one change in this telling that truly bugged me but I dont want to spoil it so Ill go ahead and put a spoiler section at the end of this status review. I can accept the other changes in this telling but this one change really got to me. Overall, Noah isnt a perfect film and this will piss off some people mainly if youre really religious expecting a true telling of this person but I did like it and appreciate it. I wish Aronofsky stayed true to the story of Noah though but oh well, I did like it just for how different it was as well as using his own vision to tell the story. I give it my Good/Solid rating. *SPOILER ALERT* I mentioned in the review how there was one change that truly bugged me and I wanted to let this out which is where I added this spoiler at the end but of course dont read it unless you truly dont care getting spoilers. The one change that bugged me in this film was how apparently God told Russell Crowe to kill Emma Watsons two babies. Its like God wouldnt command you to kill two babies, that is just utterly ridiculous in my opinion and thats the one and only change I did NOT appreciate writer and director Darren Aronofsky doing.
