Noah, or should I say Monty Pythons Noah, is pretty hilarious. John Cleese should have been cast as Noah and Lena Dunham (she would be more than happy to play the role of a drunkard that sleeps around naked) as his wife. Perhaps they should have introduced further comical elements into the movie such as Ham causing Canaan to be cursed as a result of eating the remaining Dodos out of extinction (a poignant reminder of environmental issues we face today). Or how about Methuselah portrayed by Ben Kingsley who lives in a cave as a Yogi eating and drinking nothing, sustained by nothing other than the saving ambrosia of the goddess Ambarivishghavaseethalana while levitating in the lotus position. But Noah keeps pestering him in his cave hideout like Dennis in Dennis the Menace to Mr Wilson which causes him to lose focus each time, crash to the ground and chase Noah out of the cave as he shoots bolts of lightning at him and darts all the way downhill to avoid getting struck. Yes, my modern adaptation is ridiculous but so too Aronofskys Noah. Have religious movies become so terrible theyve become indistinguishable from satire?
