Nobody wants Raila dead - Bishop Thomas Wahome By David Odongo and Solomon Koko Standard Digital Team Friday, August 29th 2014 Recently, a controversial video posted by renowned blogger, Robert Alai caused a lot of uproar. In the video, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko is seen smoking while busy on his iPad, while Paul ‘Prezda’ Kobia is seen slightly intoxicated, warning Raila to respect the president or face ‘consequences.’ Minutes later, Bishop Thomas Wahome of Helicopter of Christ makes an entrance and unidentified man asks him to pray for the group. “Neither Sonko nor Jaguar said anything in the entire clip. I also didn’t say anything. Only Kobia expressed his opinion, though I am very sure no one wants Raila dead,” says the Helicopter of Christ leader. Asked why he joined a group that was drinking and smoking, Bishop Wahome says, “Who am I to judge others? Should I only be friends with church going people? I can assure you, if my work takes me to a bar, I will go and spread the word,” says Wahome. But according to controversial businessman Paul Kobia, the video was recorded just before the Saba Saba rally when they (he and Sonko) were hosting student leaders in a city hotel urging them not to cause chaos on the day. “We knew Raila had previously met student leaders including Sonu’s Babu Owino on the 5th of July. What we were doing was countering that and asking the students to support our President and not be part of any demonstrations. We would never attack Raila like that,” he revealed, adding that they were in the frontline ensuring Cord’s agenda did not thrive during the Saba Saba rally. Kobia further claims a certain blogger tried to solicit money from them or post the clip online but they refused to play ball. “He finally succeeded to bribe someone, a traitor amongst us, who must have been recording while we were hosting the student leaders on July 6 with Sonko. The students agreed to support us and promised to ensure peace was maintained. That was our message to Raila and team. “Saba Saba failed miserably. It is a friendly battle with our friends from Cord. We love them and we like it when we beat them and so do they. It was all gimmick,” he said laughing.
