Non-Christmas Christmas songs From Greg Lake, most famously of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and King Crimson, did a solo song written by Lake with lyrics by Peter Sinfield. Sinfield was raised by a transvestite mother in England during the 1940s, and it speaks of his de-conversion from simple belief based upon the reality around him, but with the want or wish to still believe. The song is considered anti-religious to some, but for Lake, he considers it a Christmas song. As for ELP themselves, they have been labeled pretentious to grandiose, depending on who you are listening too - from filling stadiums in the 1970s across the world with a mix of rock and symphony with some jazz thrown in. However, they inspired two musicians that still have an impact on our culture . . . Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu - They both have written music known for decade world-wide - Kondo wrote the original Super Mario Bros and the Legend of Zelda - while Uematsu, is known for his work on the Final Fantasy series.
