Non-emergency vehicles banned from the roads BOSTON (WWLP) – A statewide travel ban will take effect at midnight. Governor Charlie Baker and state transportation officials are strongly urging people to stay off the roads. Eastern Massachusetts residents could see up to three feet of snow by Wednesday. There could be dangerous road conditions starting Monday night. MassDOT spokesman Michael Verseckes told 22News drivers can expect heavy snow and strong winds. Blowing and drifting can make it tough for drivers to see around corners. If you have to be on the roads, Verseckes urges you to keep a safe distance from other cars. “So, folks should definitely take it slow going home and just be mindful of the other vehicles around you. Again, under a statewide travel ban beginning at midnight, all non-emergency vehicles should be off the roads if you can.
