Non-horse people in my life have always been baffled by my intense draw to the wild mustangs, and often struggle to understand their meaning to me, and some jokingly say I have become one... lol. For so long, I have struggled to explain it, but finally and in a simple way, put it down to paper. In my early history, my parents with their two young girls fled the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia) in 1968, and all my life since and to this day, from my father, Ive been given the lessons of freedom-- and what that truly means. The mustang, a symbol of something wild, free-spirited, independent~ mirrors someone who is strong, thinks out of the box, and acts on their own beliefs… Each discovering new heights and places whether in the wilderness, or metaphorically. An intangible symbiotic connection, as though there are no barriers- confident, self-assured, and strong, with an innate desire for freedom. Perhaps this is why we gravitate to them, perhaps this is the best we see ourselves. ~ Mustang Meg
