Non-vegan friends: I realize images of abused farmed animals in slaughterhouses (and transport trucks, hatcheries, and so forth) are difficult to view. But lets concentrate on ending the horrible things going on in the pictures. Then the pictures will end. The only practical way to end them is for you - all of us - to stop buying the products of violence and abuse. Transitioning to a plant-based diet and vegan lifestyle is probably much easier than you think it will be. My wife and I ate meat nearly every day through our mid-40s, and we liked it as much as you do. Weve been vegan over 10 years now. Our meals are more satisfying and diverse than ever, and buying and cooking food is not one iota more difficult. You CAN do it and I hope you WILL try. I am more than happy to help. For starters, google vegan recipes of any dish, and youll be amazed and surprised at the variety and tastiness. Serious dietary questions? Consult with my friend, vegan dietitian Mark Rifkin. For a limited time, you can do that for free at Ask A Vegan Dietitian.
