Non violent protest has plenty of precedence in world history.Tibetan monks used quiet yet justified protest against Chinas Red Army; the Dalai Lama gradually became a household name throughout Asia as well as Europe and the US. Religious as well as military hegemony were the main contentions that caused the protest between the two nations. In many cases Chinas militaristic government at the time tried to expand its base throughout Southeast Asia at the time thereby displacing millions of people. Many historians believe there are connections between these protests and the US Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. The Rev. Martin Luther King, who called for color blind civil justice, made speeches that only a reverend could make about what true equality would be like not only in the US but also in a world where minorities battle majorities who try to enforce subjugation laws. True equality, one where economic statistics from African Americans are equal to or are better than those of others, is far out of reach. Unemployment rates for black people is more than twice than rate of whites and, in some urban areas, reaches one in four young people. Economic disparities in many parts of the world between social groups is frighteningly apparent. In continental Africa the average citizen works for $1.25 dollars a month working in menial tasks such as working in garbage dumps while the countrys elites live in comfort. Metric after metric points to extreme disparities in wealth within countries as well as in the world in large. There are many solutions to these problems like building an infrastructure of roads, bridges, airports and railways in Africa where none exists today. Demographically conditions remain promising in continental Africa where sizable youth populations remain for a large technology class to grow.Income inequality can be ameliorated throughout the world, social groups just need to realize their full potential.
