ST in liberty is different than just overall liberty, in ST Liberty the horse needs to truly want to think, leave the comfort zone and exercise together. This is not possible without fundamental principles. We talked about the learning theory, positive and negative reinforcement, pressure, positive heart and a state of learning & figuring out together. Since its my work to educate people towards soft clarity, centered strength and understanding, Im always seeking ways to create clarity as softly and positively as possible. My many years with Klaus Hempfling left me the unbreakable print how respect can be achieved with a dignified feeling in the horse and person. But as Marijke says, nowadays many soft and sensitive people seek harmony with their horses in a way that also means lack of structure, precise communication and knowledge. The theme of the weekend was to awake people and horses to more thorough look at the fundamental responsiveness of the horse and consistency of the people. My biggest thoughts were: how to establish true clarity without controlling and pushy body energy; how to combine sensitivity with consistency and structure. Since Im always looking at the soul of the horse, and Im always seeking ways to get results without leaving our inner peace and wisdom, these days gave me again a push to seek for more ways to create structured, yet authentic and dignified communication between people and horses.
