Nope, not copyright infringement. Similar tempo, and a very similar 8-note pattern, but different notes. Not just the key, but the NOTES in that pattern. The Flame track is 1-1-1-1-2-2-2-3, but the Katy Perry track is 1-1-1-1-2-2-3-4. Listen to them both and youll hear that difference. And that one 8-note pattern is the ONLY similarity. The beat is different, the instrumentation is different, the tune is different. Its not even close. Besides, that 8-note pattern in Dark Horse is very *clearly* inspired by Art of Noises Moments In Love, with that classic half-beat synthesizer lead. I cant place any sort of similar inspiration for the half-beat pattern in Joyful Noise. Are Flame and Lecrae going to sue Anne Dudley, J.J. Jeczalik, Gary Langan, Trevor Horn and Paul Morley, as well? Theyre going to have a hard time proving to a judge that Joyful Noise, composed and produced in 2008, was ripped off by a song composed and produced in 1983. Sounds like some CCM artists are hard up for some money.
