Norawas de Raramuri (Friends of the Running People). Our U.S. - TopicsExpress

Norawas de Raramuri (Friends of the Running People). Our U.S. Based, Non-Profit was created in 2009, by five dedicated Mas Locos, from around the world, all brought together with a shared message of hope, peace, and love for the Tarahumara families of Las Barrancas del Cobre. norawas.org Inspired by the dreams of Micah True, the Board of Norawas de Raramuri began working to establish and maintain a flow of resources necessary for the families to strengthen their running culture, by providing maize, non-GMO seed corn, cash awards, nutritional and educational support. As President/Chair of this dynamic Board of Directors, I am pleased to see our Mission growing organically throughout the world. Thank you to Board Members, Luis Escobar, Francois Bourdeau, Bookis Smuin, and Michael Miller. Therefore, we are thrilled to announce the unanimous selection of our loving, dedicated friends (family), who will share our beautiful message! Director of Media Relations - Caity McCardell: Caity McCardell, is a podcaster, fundraiser and media expert from Californias Central Coast. Her passion for running and promoting athletes books, events and blogs, were originally inspired by the story of Micah True, and her commitment is to help continue the spread of Micahs message globally, by honoring the culture of the Raramuri. Ambassadors of Norawas De Raramuri - Tyler Tomasello and Tom Norwood In March 2011, Tyler Tomasello journeyed down to Mexico in search of something he didnt understand, but something he sensed resonated in Micah True. So he left his home in Colorado, looking for adventure but found so much more. This adventure was not only life changing, but also it guided him to his passion; trail and ultra running. After many years of embracing Uriques culture and competing in the Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon, Tyler has found much of himself in the Raramuri culture, and in the runners he connected with from around the world. Through his love of Mother Nature and his gentle spirit, he has discovered a deep connection with the canyons and the family created by the people encountered within the canyons. He has a dream and a passion, and will not stop until both are satisfied. Tom Norwood, is the sales monkey at Luna Sandals and helps facilitate Leadership and Emotional Intelligence classes at Seattle University. His world got turned upside down when he read Born to Run and he learned to run pain free for the first time in his life at the age of 42. He has run the Caballo Blanco Ultra twice and is forever grateful for the inspiration of both Micah True and the Raramuri people.
