Noreaster has formed off Delaware (map 1) but its going to get stuck! Theres whats called a Banana High pressure system to the Northeast, North and Northwest of the storm so it really cant go anywhere quickly. Pressures are very high off to the Northeast with 30.73 over Newfoundland, Canada. With the strongest high pressure to the Northeast of the storm in part explains why this is a rain storm for the big cities/coast as warmer air moves in off the Atlantic. The storm is going to be slow moving and complex to say the least with even the mountain areas of New England going from heavy wet snow to sleet and freezing rain to rain back to heavy snow over the next 48 hours. By early tomorrow morning we could see rain in parts of New England but changing over to snow showers and snow squalls on the South side of the storm in PA-NJ-NYC. Accumulations are still expected to be light in the coastal areas but if you get under a heavy snow squall tomorrow you could get an inch real quick. Maps 2-3 show 24 hour snowfall accumulations so add them up for your storm totals. You can monitor temps/pressure/radar at weathertrends360/Maps/Interactive Travel safe! - Capt Kirk out.
