Norm Lange, River Rat: Freshwater Pearl Industry & Origins in Wisconsin This September 21, from 3-5pm, the Eve Alfillé Gallery & Studio will welcome back Pearl Society veteran Norm Lange to present his vast repertoire of hard-earned knowledge, along with stories of his travels and adventures experienced up and down midwestern rivers. “I like going west. Minneapolis, Des Moines, Omaha, Rapid City, and all points in between. Most NY and Chicago dealers didnt go where I was. ‘Where is Waterloo, Iowa?’ So our pearl business grew.” -Norm Lange Lange has been buying and selling pearls through different river towns since 1965, and went on a pearl-filled expedition just this last year with fellow Society experts George Johnson and Elisabeth Strack. There are even pearls in the Smithsonian thanks to his lustrous collection and contributions. We look forward to hearing from this sometimes profane, hard-bitten veteran, and hope that you will come to join us in celebrating pearls of the heartland! Space is limited, so RSVP to 847-869-7920 or contact@evejewelry Located at 623 Grove St., Evanston, IL Refreshments will be served. pearlsociety.typepad/my_weblog/
