Norman Joe Corbin loved this song. All I want him to tell me on the other side is hes proud of me for finding peace in this world that he couldnt with the ghosts of Vietnam haunting him. I understand why he felt he needed to drink the pain away. Now when I think of him, I see him as a 22 year old airman, not much different than me. And thats how I found peace between everything that went wrong between us. I am the sole caretaker of my familys memory. And if Im the only one left to remember them... Then so be it.
