Norsk Studios’ is a tattoo and pierce shop down the street from us. Owners Corey and Courtney came into the store one Tuesday night a little over a month ago. They chatted with me to promote their business nearby. We talked about what kind of tattoos and piercings they do. I looked over their website with them to see their work. All of this was great, but it wasn’t what caught my attention. Courtney and Corey had their son with them. He toddled up to me holding up their business card. He refused to let his mommy be the person to hand me one. Their son wanted to help out as much as he could. Norsk is determined to make their studio a family friendly place. I’ve been in many tattoo parlors. I might not have a sleeve or anything, but I have a few pieces. I know the difference between a professional business and a hangout for twenty-somethings to waste time. Norsk Studios is a business that thrives through their art. They pride themselves as a place to get your new tattoo or piercing while being a child appropriate environment. We understand their sentiment. At Rock Shop, we adore our kids comics and helping a new generation discover a love of reading. Courtney explained to me their mission: “ We are Norsk Studios: Tattoos & Media. We are a family owned and operated business located in Buford. We are unlike any other tattoo studio. We take pride in our work and associations. Our studio is entirely hand built by us, allowing us to put care into every nook and cranny. We treat our work the same way. We also participate and organize a large amount of charity work every month. We do this in an effort to give back to the community that so generously supports us. “ We’re honored to have them as our guest for Halloween ComicFest. They will be face painting, airbrushing, and selling prints. Come out and see Norsk Studios from 5-8 on Saturday! We’re also participating in their Halloween event on November 1st.
