North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department NEWS RELEASE Doug Anderson Art Exhibit at Icelandic State Park Doug Anderson, a Cavalier Public School art teacher of nearly 40 years, is exhibiting his artwork in the Pioneer Heritage Center at Icelandic State Park. The Northeastern North Dakota Heritage Association (NENDHA) is hosting an open house on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. All ages are welcome to view the program and exhibit. The NENDHA is thrilled to have Doug Anderson display his work. Over the years, Anderson taught seventh and eighth grade beginning art, Fundamentals of Art, Drawing I and II, Painting, Commercial Art, Color and Design, Crafts, and Social Studies. He started his art career at Mayville State University having graduated in 1974. In addition to his academic career, he was also commissioned by the NENDHA to paint a bird mural which can be viewed within the Pioneer Heritage Center. The exhibit is free of charge in accordance with a daily pass, annual pass, or a NENDHA membership. The Pioneer Heritage Center at Icelandic State Park is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed Saturday, and open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
