North Malawi becoming a sovereign state will be a disaster for it like South Sudan.Just like South Sudan,the North has several tribes with clearly defined boundaries and chiefdoms.This is what wil happen:Mzimba being the biggest will declare a ngoni kingdom under Mbelwa.Mzimba is bigger than Swaziland or Lesotho.The ngonis wil not allow to be under anybody.They wil have Mzuzu as their capital.Nkhatabay wil be in a dilemna-whether to join Mombera Kingdom or Malawi.Being an intelligent tribe,the Tongas wil join Malawi.The Tumbuka of Rumphi have Chikulamayembe as chief and Kyungu as paramount leader in both Karonga and Chitipa.These chiefs wil be in a big dilemna too but their last resorts wil be declarations of independence of their chiefdoms.All these wil cause armed struggles both within the North itself and Malawi as a country wil not give up the region just like that-it has interests there.It wil be like the 1960s Nigeria-Biafran War in which Biafra declared unilateral autonomy from the federal Nigeria.They fought a civil war and the seccesionist Biafra was defeated,but after loss of lives and property.Economically,the North is better off as part of Malawi.Talk less of the social aspect(ndufuna kulowola kaya ine,mxiii)!Let us be united and avoid unnecessary tensions and conflicts.Discuss if there are any dissatisfactions.
