Northeast Area Pantry Bethany Christian Church is the site of the Northeast Area Food Pantry. This emergency food pantry collects donations and fulfills the needs of many in our community. The pantry began in 1979 and was one of the first in Lincoln. The Northeast Area Pantry serves the Good Neighbor Community Center, Northeast Family Resource Center and local churchs on a regular basis. Individuals and families-in-crisis are also served via referrals from local clergy and other human service agencies. Bethany Christian Church holds special events throughout the year to support the Pantry including the CROP Walk, Pantry Sundays and Penny-A-Point-For-Pantry during football season. Souper Bowl of Caring to support the Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach program is held Super Bowl Sunday every year. Learn more about Matt Talbot at mtkservices.org. The Northeast Area Pantry provided emergency assistance to over 540 families (1,550 individuals) during 2010. Your support is needed and greatly appreciated! Watch for weekly Pantry needs in the church bulletin. The women of the two North Lincoln Curves collected 28,187 pounds of food during their March food drive. This was distributed to various food pantries, including 535 pounds of food and a check for $491 to our own Northeast Food Pantry.
