Northern Elders are not to blame. The much media publicised mindset that BokoHaram was hatched to derailed or frustrate GEJs government need to be look into with analytical approach and discerning prisms. 1. When the BokoHaram insurgency started in 2009, was Jonathan the President of Nigeria ? 2. After the death of YarAdua and subsequent elevation of Jonathan to President, and he was asked to take decisive military action, didnt he said BokoHaram are his siblings ? 3. After setting up of different committees on BokoHaram, the Gaji Galtimari committee, the Turaki Committee...., what happened to the reports of the Committees ? 4. Do Northern Elders (including past/former Presidents and Heads of State) have the control and command of the Nigerian Armed Forces ? 5. Are the service chiefs answerable to Northern Elders, do they receives their commands from Northern Elders ? 6. Are the Northern Elders the Chief Security Officers of the Nation, are the Northern Elders the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security and intelligence outfits ? 7. Who is Constitutionally charged with protection of lives and properties in the Nigerian context ? 8. How will Northern Elders kill their own people, destroy their own land and region to derailed GEJs government, does it make sense ? 9. Why will Northern Elders sponsor insecurity to frustrate GEJs government while the insurgency pre-dated Jonathans tenure ? 10. If Northern Elders are behind the BokoHaram to destablized GEJ government, why is the killings restricted to Northeast ? 11. Did GEJ government performed better in non-Bokoharamized regions of the country ? 12. If Northern Elders are the people behind the terror, what is stopping the GEJ government from exposing them, arrest them and let justice take its natural course ? 13. Didnt GEJ said BokoHaram are in his government, why is taking him too long to proclaim their arrest and prosecution ? 14. Or is the insurgency all about using it to witch-hunt political rivals, subdue the region for easy scaling in political elections ? 15. Stop blaming the people that have sacrificed their lives to build and maintain Nigeria as one entity, they are not in control of Nigerias fire-power, they are not C-C in of the Armed forces, no security or intelligence outfits are answerable to them, the onus is on he who is constitutionally to protect Nigeria and Nigerians, THE NORTHERN ELDERS ARE NOT TO BLAME.
