Northern Heights (4-4 overall, 3-1 district) will close out its regular season on the road on Friday in a 7 p.m. contest against Flint Hills League foe Lyndon, the No. 3-ranked team in Class 2A. With Wabaunsee’s win over Onaga Friday, the Chargers are in the driver’s seat for the district title. The Wildcats will finish second in the district, meaning they’ll take on Lyndon for a second consecutive week in their playoff opener. “We haven’t decided exactly how to approach (Friday’s game),” French said. “We have to sit down as a coaching staff and decide what you do and don’t do, what you show them and what you don’t show them. Against a team like Lyndon we obviously are going to have to play well to compete.”
