Northern Resident Orca sighting via the Transient killer whale Research blog by Josh McInnes (c)! We have a report of Northern Resident killer whales off Sooke BC near Victoria BC! They made it to Race Rocks than headed back West into Juan de Fuca Strait. This is an *incredibly* rare event because Northern Residents usually inhabit the waters of Johnstone Strait and northward to South East Alaska. The waters of south Vancouver are home to the Southern Residents and Transients killer whales. Here is some additional information about the Norther Resident killer whale community by OrcaLab.
