Northern Shoveler from Gilbert Water Ranch December 5th evening, This duck has a long spoon-shaped bill. When swimming it sits low in the water with it bill angled toward or in the water. Male has Rufous belly and sides, White breast, pale blue patch on forewing, orange feet. Female is brown with large bill also, with blue-gray forewing patch, white tail and orange feet. It is a common bird and its about 18-19 inches.
